The resignation of Gary Cohn, a top economic advisor for Donald Trump, sent shares lower on concern that there is now one less voice for trade-policy moderation in the administration. The Dow fell 0.3 percent to 24,801. Trade is also at the center of the day's economic data as January's deficit widened very sharply to $56.6 billion and points to early trouble for first-quarter GDP. Rates were little changed while the dollar index edged 0.2 percent higher to 89.57. Gold held near $1,325 while oil rose $1 and is near $61.50.
