Raphael Bostic, professor at the University of Southern California and housing policy economist, has been named president of the Atlanta Federal Reserve effective June 5. Bostic will become the first black president of a Federal Reserve regional bank. Bostic will succeed Dennis Lockhart whose resignation was effective last month. Interim President Marie Gooding will attend this week's FOMC and submit the bank's forecasts for the Fed's quarterly projections. Atlanta rotates into the FOMC voting pool next year.
