EIA Natural Gas Report
Released On 3/16/2017 10:30:00 AM For wk3/10, 2017
Weekly Change-68 bcf-53 bcf

Natural gas in storage fell 53 billion cubic feet in the March 10 week to 2,242 bcf. The once again modest weekly drawdown puts stocks 9.5 percent below the large storage level a year ago but 21.4 percent above the 5-year average for the comparable period and near the upper extreme of the 5-year historical range. Reduced demand due to considerably warmer than normal weather since the beginning of the year has kept working gas drawdowns smaller this year, even resulting in a small build in the February 24 week, which was earliest net injection into stored supply in the history of the Natural Gas Report dating back o 1994. The earliest prior net injection was for the week ending March 16, which occurred in both 2007 and 2012, according to the EIA.

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) provides weekly information on natural gas stocks in underground storage for the U.S. and five regions of the country. The level of inventories helps determine prices for natural gas products.  Why Investors Care
