Market Consensus before announcement
SPECIAL NOTE: This week's consensus numbers do not take into account annual revisions. According to ADP, the ADP National Employment Report will release annual revisions Wednesday March 7th at 8:15AM ET along with the release of February data. The full history is subject to revision. There will be no changes to the methodology used to compute the estimates.

Revisions will reflect: updated estimates of historical seasonal factors, updated regression estimates used to adjust for historical differences in the variances of the monthly growth rates of employment reported by the BLS and computed from ADP data, and updated estimates of the differences in the historical averages of the growth rates of employment reported by the BLS and computed from ADP data.

Last month (based on pre-revisions data),ADP private payroll employment came in with an estimate of 170,000 for January. This compared with the BLS private payroll increase of 257,000 from the employment situation report.

Definition
The ADP national employment report is computed from a subset of ADP records that represent approximately 400,000 U.S. business clients and approximately 23 million U.S. employees working in all private industrial sectors. ADP contracted with Moody’s Analytics to compute a monthly report that would ultimately help to predict monthly nonfarm payrolls from the Bureau of Labor Statistic's employment situation. The ADP report only covers private (excluding government) payrolls.  Why Investors Care

[Chart]
