Monster's employment index rose 1 point in October to 120 indicating a slight improvement in job demand. Transportation & warehousing, a sector especially sensitive to pivotal shifts in the economy, was unchanged for a third straight month.

Definition
The Monster Employment Index is a comprehensive monthly analysis of U.S. online job demand. It is conducted by Monster Worldwide, Inc. and is based on a real-time review of a large, representative selection of career sites and job boards, including Monster," according to Monster Worldwide.
